Whether you are an undergraduate science major considering teaching as a career path, a recent college graduate with a science major, or a professional seeking a career change who possesses a science degree, you are invited to apply to the program. Students who are admitted to the program must demonstrate eligibility for employment in high-needs public or private schools in the United States.
Undergraduates
Scholarship recipients are expected to be undergraduates who have attained at least a junior status in a STEM baccalaureate degree program. Candidates will be selected primarily on the basis of academic merit, with consideration given to financial need and the diversity of participants in the program. NOYCE scholars must graduate with a major in a STEM discipline and be eligible to obtain teacher certification or licensing. STEM majors who may not have considered a career in 7-12 STEM teaching are particularly encouraged to apply.
Graduates/Career Changers
Stipend recipients are expected to be STEM Professionals or recent STEM graduates who, while receiving the stipend, are enrolled in a graduate SEYS science education program with a major in a STEM discipline that is eligible for teacher certification or licensing. STEM professionals who may not have considered a career in 7-12 STEM teaching are particularly encouraged to apply.
